We bring our Wood-Mizer Super Hydraulic sawmill to your site behind a 4x4 pick up truck.
The mill is set up beside your log or log pile. Using cant hooks, logs are rolled forward then lifted onto the mill using hydraulic loading arms. The first log is usually being cut within 15 minutes of my arrival.
I will cut your logs to your specifications, including hardwood grade lumber, rift sawn lumber, dimension lumber, posts or beams. I can also turn your larger logs into strong and valuable quarter sawn lumber.
We carry with us in our sevice truck: chain saws, cant hooks, chains, spare blades, spare parts, extra fuel, bug spray, etc., all the tools needed to keep the saw mill cutting and the saw dust flying.
We cut full-time, Monday thru Saturday, typically 7 am to 4 pm.
When we arive at your job site we will have a truck, sawmill, and all the tools needed to mill your lumber.
You, the customer, will need to supply at least one (preferably two) able-bodied individual(s) to help move things around and to off-bear the finished lumber.
We cut to your specifications and needs for graded hardwood lumber or construction lumber.
We can often cut 1500-2000 bd ft/day.
Our mill produces more lumber than estimated by typical log scales due to the thin kerf saw blades. Thinner sawblades, less sawdust, more lumber. Simple.
Log capacity of the mill: 36 inches in diameter, 21 feet in length
Time to set up the mill: 5 minutes.
* In an effort to ensure the highest quality lumber from your logs we have chosen to upgrade our sawmill five times over the past 28 years. Our newest Wood Mizer sawmill was delivered in December of 2014. Great Christmas present, huh?
Choose a job site which is relatively level and at least 50 ft x 30 ft.
Put your logs in a stack lying alongside one another so they can be rolled directly forward and onto the mill’s loading arms.
set up fee: none
cutting fee: 30 cents/board foot (12in x 12in x 1in) of actual lumber cut
travel fee: 50 cents/mile one way per day
blade damage fee: $20 per blade (when hitting unseen hardware in the log)
minimum charge per job is $150
Some jobs will be charged using an hourly rate when they are labor intensive requiring bucking, trimming, splitting.
